UK Pre-bookings on booster shot allowed to ramp up vaccination
Britainâs health ministry on Saturday said it would open up bookings for booster shots a month before people were eligible to receive the shots to help speed up the rollout ahead of the challenging winter months.
Those eligible for the top-up vaccination will receive their booking invitation five months after their second dose instead of six, after a change to the system means boosters can be prebooked.
From Monday, the National Booking System will allow someone to pre-book their booster appointment a month before they are eligible. Anyone over the age of 50 or has been told they are in an at-risk group is advised to get a booster shot.
